Disclaimer
Effective date: July 23, 2026
Please read this disclaimer carefully before using https://onerepmaxcalculators.com/ (the “Site”) or any of its calculators, guides, or content. By using the Site, you agree to the terms below.
1) Not medical or professional advice
The content on this site—including all calculators, guides, articles, and strength standards—is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not medical advice, a fitness prescription, or a substitute for professional guidance from a doctor, physical therapist, certified strength coach, or other qualified professional.
Always consult a physician before beginning any exercise program, especially if you have an existing injury, medical condition, or cardiovascular concern or are new to resistance training. Stop immediately and seek medical attention if you experience pain, dizziness, or discomfort during any exercise.
2) Calculator results are estimates only
Our one-rep max calculator and all related lift-specific calculators (bench press, squat, deadlift, and others) use established mathematical formulas—such as Epley, Brzycki, and similar published models—to estimate a one-rep max based on the submaximal weight and reps you enter. These are estimates, not guarantees:
- Different formulas can produce different results for the same input.
- Accuracy tends to decrease as the number of reps performed increases (formulas are generally more reliable in the 1-10 rep range).
- Individual factors — technique, fatigue, experience level, limb length, and lift-specific mechanics — can all cause your actual 1RM to differ from the estimate.
- Strength standards, Wilks/DOTS scores, and percentage-based training numbers shown on this site are reference points, not personalized prescriptions.
Never use a calculator estimate as the sole basis for loading a bar at or near a true maximum attempt without appropriate supervision, spotters, and safety equipment.
3) Assumption of risk
Strength training, one-rep max testing, and heavy resistance exercise carry an inherent risk of injury, including but not limited to muscle strain, joint injury, and in rare cases more serious harm. By using this Site and applying any information, calculator result, program, or guide found here, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with such activity.
You are solely responsible for using proper form, appropriate loading, spotters, and safety equipment, and for judging what is appropriate for your own fitness level and health status.
4) No liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, One Rep Max Calculators, its owner, and its author(s) are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage of any kind—direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential—arising from your use of this Site, its calculators, or any information published here. This includes reliance on any 1RM estimate, training program, strength standard, or guide found on the Site.
This site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.
5) Not a substitute for coaching or supervision
Nothing on this site replaces the judgment of a qualified, in-person coach who can observe your technique, assess your individual circumstances, and adjust programming accordingly. If you are new to a lift, testing a true max for the first time, or returning from injury, we strongly recommend working with a qualified coach or trainer and having a spotter present.
6) Accuracy and updates
We make a good-faith effort to keep formulas, strength standards, and guides accurate and up to date, and we’re transparent about which formulas power each calculator (see our How Accurate Are 1RM Calculators? guide for more detail). However, we do not guarantee that any content on this site is complete, current, or error-free. Exercise science and best practices evolve, and older content may not reflect the latest research.
7) Third-party links and content
This Site may link to external websites, research, or resources for reference. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. Inclusion of a link does not imply our endorsement.
8) Advertising disclosure
This Site may display advertising from third-party networks (such as Google AdSense and, where applicable, Mediavine) to help keep our calculators and guides free to use. See our Privacy Policy for details on how advertising cookies are used. If any page contains affiliate links, we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you.
9) Changes to this disclaimer
We may update this Disclaimer as the Site grows or as we add new tools and content. We’ll update the “Effective date” at the top when changes are published. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Disclaimer.
